Drawing QA/QC AI

Drawing QA/QC is the quality control process that ensures construction documents are accurate, complete, coordinated, and code-compliant before they are issued. AI automates the systematic checking portion of this process, which traditionally depends on experienced reviewers who may not have time to check every item on every sheet.

The AI checks fall into several categories: completeness (are all required sheets present, do all details referenced on plans actually exist), consistency (do wall types match between plans and schedules, do door hardware groups in the schedule match the specification), dimensioning (are critical dimensions shown, do dimensions close mathematically), and standards compliance (does the drawing set follow the firm's graphic standards, are line weights consistent, are text styles uniform).

The QA/QC report becomes a tool for continuous improvement. By tracking the types of issues found across projects, firms identify systematic problems — maybe door schedules consistently have errors because the door schedule workflow is flawed, or maybe structural drawings are missing dimensions at beam-to-column connections because the detailing standards need updating. This pattern analysis turns individual project QA/QC into firm-wide process improvement.
